St. Patty’s Day Boot Camp

St. Patty’s Day Boot Camp, an ultimate circuit-based workout, will be held March 11 from 10-11 a.m. at Murphy Field House, 8452 Zimborski Ave.

The class combines intervals of cardio skills and muscle conditioning to provide an intense, total body workout.

The class is open to authorized patrons ages 18 and older.

Pre-Natal Yoga Class

Gaffney Fitness Center has added a new class for moms-to-be: Pre-Natal Yoga on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m.

This class will help expectant mothers safely explore poses to build strength, work with flexibility and support their ever-changing body.

Breath practice will be integrated to find ease and calm the mind as they prepare for birth.

The class also will address common pregnancy discomforts as well as benefits for baby and mom.

All classes will end with relaxation time.

All levels, trimesters and partners are welcome.

Try out the class for $3.

Classes are open to all authorized users ages 18 and older.

Gaffney Fitness Center offers a variety of aerobics classes.

Get your heart rate up at this intense workout.

Patrons can purchase a punch card or just drop in and pay as they go.

Tae Kwon Do

Child and Youth Services offers a Tae Kwon Do class Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Youth Center.

Classes for ages 4 to 6 cost $45 per month. Classes for ages 7-17 cost $85 per month.

Personal trainers at Gaffney

Gaffney Fitness Center offers personal training programs for those who are eligible to use the facility.

Individual or two-person sessions are available.

Individual performance training cost is $35 for one hour; $165 for five one-hour sessions; and $300 for 10 one-hour sessions.

Two-person training cost is $20 per person for one hour; $18 per person for five one-hour sessions; and $16 per person for 10 one-hour sessions.

Thirty-minute training cost is half the fee for all sessions listed above.

Clients will be contacted directly by the personal trainers to schedule a consultation, to determine the client’s fitness goals and to determine which package works best.

Training sessions will be scheduled directly with the personal trainer.

Fitness Equipment Orientation

Gain a better understanding of Gaffney Fitness Center’s Nautilus weight machine setup, weight room and proper positioning from this instructor-led orientation.

The free orientation does not include personal training.

Appointments are required.

Dollar Day

Dollar Day is offered at The Lanes every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Lifeguarding classes

The American Red Cross is offering lifeguard training Saturday and Sunday, and March 11 and 12; April 11-14; and May 13, 14, 20 and 21. Classes meet 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April course meets from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Course includes complete Red Cross certification, first aid and CPR/AED (automated external defibrillator).

Registration fee is $250.

Participants must register in person at Gaffney Fitness Center.
