More than 300 children gathered Saturday morning at Club Meade for Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The annual event, which featured a buffet breakfast, was sponsored by Child and Youth Services.

After a hearty breakfast of waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage, children busied themselves with arts and crafts projects such as making picture frames, decorating cookies and ornaments, and writing letters to Santa. A highlight was a Christmas interpretive dance performed by Fort Meade dancers.

The highlight of the three-hour event was taking photographs with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The photographs were printed on the spot for families to take home.

Mrs. Claus also found time to read several holiday stories to children before rushing back with Santa to the North Pole in preparation for Christmas Day.
